100th POST!!!

 Some of my post have been just random thoughts, some planned out, some just pictures of my three kiddos. I had thought my 100th post would be something grand and well-thoughtout, but instead, I leave you with some our latest pictures. Enjoy...

Life Verses?

So many of my friends have life verses for their families and for their children. I don't. I have verses that help me through things I'm going through, but nothing that is MY verse. I did find this translation and instantly was drawn to it. It says everything: "Become all that God intended you to be. Love Him. Love people. Love the life you've been given." matthew 22: 36-39. So, if I were to choose one verse, I think this one might be it.

But, I know when I'm running and struggling that last leg, I continually quote Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things..." We have James 1:27 hanging on our living room wall in support of our daughter in EE and the sons and daughters of our friends who have been born in other places of the world.

I want my kids to love the Word and find comfort and support in all of it, not just one verse. To my friends who have chosen verses for their families, maybe I'm just a little jealous that I can't narrow it down to one. Maybe I'm just scared of commitment of one verse.

What's in a Name?

We are having a terrible time coming up with a name for our little angel. Being a school teacher I always have "that" student I don't want to name my child after. Eric, is vanilla, and picks very common names. I want to have a different name; one I don't hear everyday five times when I call roll.

Our first two kids have family names, and I want to keep that tradition, but it's hard when you have names like Rufus and Majory. John David was named after Eric's grandfathers (John, David) and my great grandfather (Johnnie). Julianne was named after all the women on Eric's mom's side of the family (Ann) and my grandmother (Elizabeth)--we wanted to keep the beginning letter, J, too (my sister and I both start with S). So, factor in all those variables, and we don't have a lot of options. May have to rethink the "J" thing. We also had a terrible time coming up with Julianne's name five years ago too. Boy names, I'm good with; it's the girls I'm having trouble with.

Meaning isn't a big deal for me either. I have no idea what the kids' names mean.

We're on the search for a name and are open for suggestions.
